Spring is just around the corner, and that means RV season is upon us! The warm weather and long days make it the perfect time to take a family vacation, a cross-country trip, or a long camping excursion. Before you hit the road, you’ll need to make sure your rig is ready for travel. For tips on how to get your model prepped for spring, check out our maintenance tips below.

Wash Your RV

To keep dirt and debris from building up on your RV causing it to rust or corrode, give your rig a thorough scrub from top to bottom—making sure to follow up with a protective wax and polish. Afterward, allow your model to dry in the sun. We recommend opening all of your RV’s doors, windows, and cabinets to help air out your model.

Warm Weather Prep

Once your RV is dry, we recommend taking a few minutes to inspect both the inside and outside of your model for any cracks, holes, or damages that could cause cool air to escape and the heat from outside to seep into your RV. These holes will need to be patched, and it may also be a wise idea to add weather stripping to your model’s doors and windows.

Flush Your Tank

Finally, don’t forget to flush and refill your water tank before you finish up for the day. This shouldn’t take long, just remember to run the pump for a few minutes afterward to ensure it’s working correctly and flush out any antifreeze left in the system.
